O2G FOUNDATION AND THE SAVANNAH CLINIC INITIATIVE

The late Prof. Ishaya Audu Medical Polyclinic, also known as Savannah Clinic, was founded by the late Ishaya Audu to deliver medical service to humanity in Samaru and other communities in the Zaria environ of Nigeria. Recently Steve Daniels (Oga Steve) of ABU Zaria started the Savannah Clinic Initiative in response to outpouring of appreciation expressed by members of the community on the positive role of late Prof. Ishaya Audu played by establishing his Medical Polyclinic in the poor community. The initiative was intended not only to acknowledge and celebrate the iconic personality, but to draw attention to Christlike sacrifice expected of the children of God. Late Professor Ishaya Audu left a legacy we as Christians can build on to show the love of Christ.

In order to support the modest work still going on by the staff of the medical outfit and provide credible example of charity work the initiative engaged with community-based organizations (who are predominantly Moslem) to do the following:

  • Effectively clear and reconstruct the drainage along the road in the front of the Polyclinic.

  • Give a Facelift to the Medical Polyclinic include planting of Trees and flowers within and outside the facility.

  • Repairs abandoned water points,

  • Installation of solar lights around the premises.

O2G Foundation has come into partnership with Oga Steve's initiative for Savannah Polyclinic with a grant of N100,000 to support his vision. This was used to bring to realization more of the Initiative for Savannah Polyclinic.

The goal is to continue to attract more support towards making the Savannah Polyclinic effectively render medical services and keep the vision of the founder alive. Herewith are some photos of how it is all coming together.

The late Prof Ishaya Audu was the first Patron of O2G Foundation /UCC. Similarly, Oga Steve is a current Patron who is also actively involved.
